Hillsborough County intends to recommend the award of a special procurement to The Tampa Foundation Inc., for implementation of a static public awareness project in the form of a human trafficking themed murals at a total cost of $35,000.00. The County Commission on Human Trafficking (COHT) and The Tampa Foundation Inc., in collaboration with the Florida Department of Transportation, intend to implement a creative public awareness campaign in the Downtown Tampa area by painting visual messages to 12 structural columns of the dangers of human trafficking, raising awareness, informing of help available, victim’s assistance, prevention efforts, etc. This procurement is being made in accordance with Section 3-208(32) of the County’s Procurement Policy as The Tampa Foundation Inc., possesses special and professional services by which they address public awareness with positive community messages. Their leadership team’s relationship with the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council (EDC), along with Tampa Innovation Alliance, Inc., established their work as a community asset, in addition, they have the ability to engage the most appropriate work crews and appropriate sites to inform the public of its anti-human trafficking efforts.
