The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (the State Entity) is accepting bids on the Agricultural Meter Installation Project. The project’s focus will be statewide covering 14 river basins across the State of Georgia. The River Basins are as follows: Flint, Suwannee, Chattahoochee, Ochlockonee, Altamaha, Coosa, Ocmulgee, Oconee, Ogeechee, Satilla, Savannah, St. Marys, Tallapoosa, and Tennessee River Basins. Contractors should bid per river basin. The project will include new meter installations for both groundwater and surface water withdrawal sources, as well as new meter installations on pivots currently without meters. This project will also include the repair and replacement of existing, non-functional meters. The Contractor will also be responsible for the following: • Replacing damaged or outdated propeller meters • Replacing dead batteries • Retrieving and decommissioning meters that are no longer in use or were installed based on previous assessments • Correcting previous installations that do not meet manufacturer specifications; retrieving the old meter, welding the hole closed, and repositioning the meter upstream or downstream to meet manufacturer specifications • On-site maintenance, including installation of straightening vanes, installation of Signal Fire telemetry units, meter retrievals, and battery replacements The project includes up to 1,000 maintenance orders per year. Most meter installations within this will need to be completed between October 1 and April 1, though some installations may occur outside this timeframe on a case-by-case basis approved by the State Entity.
