Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent of this invitation is to obtain competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors so that Whitfield County Public Works (WCPW) will have the ability to contract approximately 10 miles of Micro Surfacing on various county roads. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor, materials, insurance and services required to fulfill the terms and conditions of this Invitation to Bid. In an effort to increase the number of miles paved per year, and do so with a value oriented product, WCPW will contract Micro Surfacing project along approximately 10 miles of subdivision roads (minors) and less traveled roads (collectors) maintain a smaller fleet of Tandem Dump Trucks than in years past. This cost saving initiative will require the use of contracted trucks and operators to support paving operations or any other special projects assigned. Vendor shall provide Tandem dump truck(s) with driver(s). Tandem trucks shall have a GVW of approximately 66,000 pounds. The dup bed should have the capability of hauling a minimum of 15 tons of asphalt paving materials, asphalt millings, graded aggregate(s), dirt backfill, etc. as required. Price shall include the Tandem truck and an operator, fuel, insurance, pick-up and delivery of all materials needed for Whitfield County projects. The materials will generally be loaded from local vendors, however, materials may need to be hauled from outside of Whitfield County when not available locally. Work schedule shall typically be 4 days per week summer schedule and 5 days per week winter schedule. Half days will be considered four hrs. a full day will be considered 8 hrs. in addition, any hours worked beyond eight hrs. will be billed as worked. Saturday Work: Will be limited, but a three (3) day notice shall be given whenever possible. A list of trucks available shall be furnished with bid of year make and model of trucks
