This is a Design-Build Project. The primary goal and overarching purpose for this project is to address life safety concerns within Building 54. The current occupancy limitations of the space prohibit large assembly occupancies.
The University of West Florida is receiving a $6.25 million FY22 PECO budget appropriation from the State of Florida (as of July 2021, with the new FY-22 fiscal year). This total project budget of $6.25 million is inclusive of all contingencies, testing and fees.
This project anticipates the planning, design and construction of renovations to Building 54 utilizing a design-build model for delivery. The project is to be planned, designed and constructed so as to have renovations completed and available for full occupancy by Spring 2023, with construction commencing Spring 2022.
