The Shoreline Water Line Replacement project involves removing the existing 4-inch and 6-inch asbestos cement (AC) waterlines and replacing them with approximately 3,250 linear feet of 6-inch PVC waterline. All existing water services will be transferred from the old lines to the new ones, and the old waterlines will be capped and abandoned in place. Additionally, the redundant waterlines (an existing 4” AC and an existing 6” AC) will be replaced with a single 6” PVC waterline. A significant portion of the existing 6-inch AC waterline along Shoreline Drive is located beneath a sidewalk. The new line will be installed in the grassed right-of-way, providing the City with easy access to the main line. The project also includes the proper reconnection of existing water meters, fire hydrants, connecting water mains, including the valves, fittings, and all appurtenances necessary for a complete and operational system, property restoration, and the abandonment of the existing asbestos cement water main.
