At Florida International University (FIU), we understand that students do not become leaders by simply succeeding in the classroom, they grow into movers and shakers in the community through interactions all throughout our campus. Understanding this dynamic, FIU embraces a multi-dimensional experience for students— engaging the mind, body, and spirit – to provide the necessary foundation for our students to develop as well-rounded persons, professionals, citizens, and world changers. By establishing a world-class Academic Medical Enterprise, leveraging FIU’s academic enterprise expertise and Baptist’s clinical enterprise expertise, FIU will enhance the student experience for the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine students that will be exposed to incredible opportunities due to the collective efforts of both entities. FIU desires to develop an iconic co-branded, state-of-the-art integrated outpatient medical center on the FIU MMC campus including an associated parking facility that serves as a hub for the Academic Medical Enterprise’s clinical, research and educational activities. The proposed Medical Clinical facility on campus will provide direct outpatient clinical health services to the students, faculty, staff and community through partnership with a hospital system as well as interdisciplinary health science education for the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. The facility will be located near the northeast corner of campus off of SW 8th Street and SW 107th Avenue in Miami, Fl 33199.
