2.2.1. GRADING AND SLOPING The finished road surface will require roller packing, grading, and compaction to achieve a smooth, durable driving surface. The finished road surface will be 14 feet wide, with centerline crowned, and compacted meeting these additional specifications: 1) Centerline crown with slope of four percent (4%) to six percent (6%). 2) Eight inches (8”) of compacted certified FDOT grade road base at centerline crown. 3) Non-compacted shoulder material will not contribute to road surface width. 2.2.2. CENTERLINE CROWN Refers to two (2) opposing slopes shedding water perpendicular to the road corridor. The centermost portion of this road will be the highest point with a minimum of eight inches (8”) of additional compacted limerock. 2.2.3. MATERIALS All materials must adhere to the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT’s) Section 911, Limerock Material for Base and Stabilized Base. Road shall be constructed of with certified FDOT grade road base. Materials shall NOT contain lumps of aggregate of such nature or in sufficient quantity to prevent purchaser from obtaining a smooth work surface free from pits and pockets. Product shall be free of trash and foreign matter. Product shall come from pits or mines that are free of exotic plant species. FFS personnel will inspect the mines of the winning bid for the presence of invasive species and has the right to refuse the bid if invasive species are present.
