Specifications include, but are not limited to: planning, designing, permitting, bidding, and construction administration of a two-story community center, approximately 35,000 – 60,000 SF to be located at the southeast corner of Pace Boulevard and Fairfield Drive in Pensacola, Florida. The first level of the building will accommodate an NCAA sized, wooden floor basketball facility with medium-sized businesses/shops and a small café style restaurant. The remaining floor space on the first level will provide support areas (locker rooms, restrooms, etc.) for the Athletic Center and serve as an emergency shelter for the community when required in the event of a natural disaster. The second floor will be approximately 18,000 SF and have an open atrium above the basketball court with a walking track along the perimeter of the atrium. The sides of the atrium should be able to accommodate several areas large enough for meeting rooms and at least two classrooms for residents to use for continuing education purposes. The firm shall work with a pre-manufactured steel building company to aid in design of the building and provide design documentation that includes a wind load rating of not less than 170 MPH.
