The sandbags to be used for flood protection must meet industry standards and shall adhere to the following specifications: a) The bags shall be constructed of high-quality white woven polypropylene material with built-in tie strings for easy closure. b) The bags shall have a minimum UV rating of 1600 to ensure durability when exposed to sunlight. c) The bags shall have hemmed edges on both the top and bottom for added strength and durability. d) The bag size shall be 14” x 26” each (plus or minus 0.5”). e) The sand used in the sandbags must be premium quality, washed, and screened for convenient use with high UV rating that allows life in the sun and elements. The sand materials must contain no contaminants that could pose a risk to County residents, emergency responders, or the environment. The sand shall comply with relevant quality and safety standards for emergency use, ensuring it is safe for distribution during times of crisis.
