Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Margate’s Public Works Garage Division is soliciting proposals for a qualified contractor(s) to provide automotive paint and body work repair services, including replacement parts and components for various types and makes of vehicles, including but not limited to, pick-up trucks, passenger sedans, pursuit vehicles, sport utility vehicles and vans, for the City and form a long-term partnership to the benefit of both parties. Work to be performed shall include fiberglass work, body repair, frame straightening, painting, and other related repairs (including OEM parts such as suspension, steering, etc.). Proposer shall be responsible for picking up vehicle from and delivering vehicle back to the City of Margate Garage Division located at 102 Rock Island Road, Margate, FL 33063. Contractor Requirements Contractor shall have a body shop facility that meets the following requirements: 1. Paint booth on site, enclosed, and protected, to meet all EPA requirements. 2. Automotive frame straightening machine, on site, with a minimum of one (1) operator, certified by the manufacturer of the machine. For paint and body repair, technicians must be certified by the Automotive Society of Excellence (ASE), Technicians must be I-Car certified. 3. Inside or secure storage area for Police and other vehicles containing electrical equipment, tools, or parts. Area should be fenced and locked. 4. Facility shall be capable of handling a high volume of repairs 5. Repair facility must be within a 20-mile radius of the City of Margate Public Works Garage Division located at 102 Rock Island Road, Margate, FL 33063. 6. Contractor shall provide free pick up & delivery of vehicles. 7. Release of vehicles from body shop without payment in full by city; Contractor shall provide invoice to the Garage Division upon delivery of vehicle. 8. Vendor shall provide maximum warranty available for paint and workmanship. 9. Shop to be licensed, insured (to include General Liability, Automotive, Workers Comp, and Garage Keepers Insured) and meet all local code regulations. Repair Parts When deemed necessary, by Fleet Management for safety-related concerns, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts will be used for structural repairs (e.g., impact bumpers, bumper support, airbags, and sensors). Otherwise, new aftermarket replacement parts may be used for non-safety related repairs. Part numbers must be listed on the invoice.
