Wax Coated Box Specifications Wax coated boxes must meet the following specifications: 1) Volume of 1 1/9th bushels. 2) Inside dimensions must be 17 ½ in. long x 11 3/4 in. wide x 11 5/8 in. high. Minor variation (plus or minus ½ in.) will be accepted in the height dimension only. The vendor must supply a spec sheet with its bid submission specifying the actual dimensions of the wax coated box. BID NUMBER: ITB FFS 25 26 36 Page 4 of 24 3) Be single wall, corrugated, 42 lb./69 lb. – 33 “C” flute with a 250 lb. burst strength. Each box shall have a glue joint with a self-locking top and bottom. 4) Not require staples, fasteners, glue, tape, or other fasteners to assemble. 5) Manufactured with water resistant adhesive used on the glue joint of the boxes. 6) Not include any print or images and be plain brown Kraft color. 7) Wax coat must be applied via the cascading method. Curtain-coated wax boxes will not be accepted. Box finish must be included on the spec sheet included with the vendor’s bid. 8) Each box shall be manufactured with the standard handholds and vents. 9) Box gaps between the two top flaps and the two bottom flaps must not exceed 1” in size. 10) Boxes must be delivered to Andrews Nursery in the “knock down” or flat formation.
