A. Awarded agency will be responsible for implementing a swim lesson program to children aged six (6) months to twelve (12) years within Volusia County. Funds provided through this Request for Proposal (RFP) shall be used to facilitate swim lessons at a free or reduced cost. Children receiving swim lessons with funding from this grant shall be Volusia County residents. Households awarded a scholarship must be at or below 200% federal poverty guidelines. Awarded agency may choose to complete income calculations based on submitted documentation or an attestation from the applying household. Preference will be made for agencies that serve a wide geographical area of the county and those who serve special populations such as special needs, disabled children, foster children, etc. B. Swim lessons shall be provided by a certified swim instructor as detailed in this scope. Swim lessons may include but are not limited to traditional swimming lessons that may focus on techniques, and/or Infant Swimming Resource (ISR), and/or survival swim lessons. C. Awarded agency shall track attendance of each child assisted utilizing this grant funding. Attendance will be used to determine the amount of funding to be reimbursed.
