The Contractor shall perform one (1) annual inspection and three (3) quarterly inspections in accordance with NFPA 25 on each fire sprinkler system in the School District. An assessment of the internal condition of the piping required every five years shall be conducted in 2028. A cost separate from the annual inspection cost shall be requested just for the assessment of the internal condition of the piping as that will only be required once for each site during the term of this Agreement. A separate cost shall also be requested for each site for an obstruction investigation should one be warranted based on the code requirements and resulting from the results of the assessment of the internal condition of the piping. Backflow prevention assembly devices beyond the designated point of service as identified by the School District Fire Official shall be certified and tagged annually in accordance with applicable NFPA and Florida Administrative Codes. A separate cost for a re-test that may be required for a BFPs after repairs and/or alterations is also requested. The successful bidder shall, at a minimum, perform the following maintenance during annual inspections: lubricate all control valves, replace missing fire department connection caps, drain all low points of dry or pre-action systems, replace missing valves signage (excluding hydraulic data plates), and complete all inspections. In addition to the annual test flow required for fire pumps located on School District sites, they shall be operated and tested in accordance with the applicable code, monthly for electric motors and weekly for the diesel motors. Fire hydrants located at School District sites within the jurisdiction of the City of St. Cloud Fire Department, will not be tested under this bid as the required tests and inspections are completed by the Tohopekalga Water Authority. Fire hydrants located at all remaining School District facilities will be tested and inspected under this bid. Installation of tags and labels required as part of the inspection shall be included in the inspection cost.
