1. Polk County Solid Waste Division (PCSWD) is seeking qualified Vendors to provide transportation and final disposal of whole waste tires from the County's North Central Landfill (NCLF) or North Central Transfer Station (NCTS). 2. Waste tires may be stored at the North Central Landfill (NCLF) (7425 DeCastro Road, Winter Haven, FL 33880) or the North Central Transfer Station (NCTS) (3131 K-Ville Road, Auburndale FL 33823). Excluding County holidays, landfill hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Transfer Station hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 3. PCSWD accepts an average of 500-600 tons of whole waste tires annually from Polk County residents. These tires are stored at the Division's permitted waste tire collection center at the NCLF or NCTS until they are transported to a permitted Waste Tire Processing Facility or other appropriately permitted disposal facility. 4. Also, PCSWD periodically requires tire shreds/chips for use as drainage material in various landfill projects. Successful Vendor will be required to provide tire shreds/chips as requested to the NCLF.
