Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The College’s IT and Engineering Department requests the purchase of an open-source, API driven infrastructure management system. Ludus Enterprise, provided by BAD SECTOR LABS, is specifically designed to support educational environments, cybersecurity training, testing labs, and other academic technology needs. The platform would enable the College to focus on education and student training rather than infrastructure configuration and management. Ludus Enterprise supports multiple isolated virtual ranges, making it ideal for institutions managing multiple courses and student groups simultaneously. The system would support five (5) Broward College administrator users, five (5) instructor accounts, at least 180 concurrent virtual machines, and integration with D2L Brightspace, enabling students to launch virtual machines directly from course content. The platform is required to support at least five (5) courses for a minimum of eight (8) months, providing consistent and reliable access for faculty and students. The managed hosting solution by BAD SECTOR LABS provides a complete turnkey approach, including hardware ownership, initial installation, 24/7 monitoring, ongoing maintenance, and technical support. This solution would reduce the need for additional IT staffing or technical expertise, ensure predictable costs, and deliver uninterrupted service with formal service level agreements. The proprietary technology and specialized services provided by Ludus Enterprise are considered for usage in the College’s virtual lab environment, and would enable safe, scalable, and efficient educational experiences for students. Implementation of this platform would ensure students receive hands-on training in cybersecurity and technical courses, mirroring real-world infrastructure environments they may encounter in professional settings.
