The County currently holds an Incidental Take Permit (ITP) from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) for sea turtles and the Anastasia Island beach mouse that is set to expire on August 31, 2026. The County is seeking the assistance of a consultant to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, address new scientific data, and incorporate stakeholder input for the renewal of the ITP and update of the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) for five species of sea turtles, Anastasia Island Beach Mouse, and any other federally listed species required for inclusion by state and/or federal regulation. The goal is to enhance conservation efforts while accommodating necessary development and recreational beach activities.
