Specifications include, but are not limited to: Terminal 1 Checked Baggage Resolution Area (CBRA) Room Improvements at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Broward County is seeking a qualified general contractor (Prime Vendor) to provide construction services to expand the existing Terminal 1 Checked Baggage Resolution Area (CBRA) at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) from the thirteen (13) existing screening stations to twenty-six (26) screening stations and the construction of a temporary CBRA screening room. The work includes but is not limited to demolition, structural work, beams, concrete, installation of floors, ceilings and walls, electrical and data, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, installation of conveyor system to include motors, pushers and diverters and associated equipment, installation of controls for baggage conveyor system. The prime Vendor is required to expand the existing CBRA room and construct a temporary CBRA room for baggage screening during the expansion/construction period. This requires a collaborative effort between the prime Vendor, other airport vendors, Airlines and the County to safely maintain operations during construction in an active Terminal. The construction associated with this Project will require the Prime Vendor’s coordination with County-approved contracted vendors in connection with the following existing systems: baggage handling controls, access control system, closed circuit television (CCTV) system, building automation system, fire alarm life safety system. The Step Two Bid document will include the specifications for construction of this project. It is the intent of the County to utilize various County-approved vendors for certain equipment and/or service, as required. Work performed by County-approved vendors will be funded via established Allowances in the final contract.
