The City of Winter Haven, FL, is soliciting proposals for the maintenance and resurfacing of the tennis and pickle ball courts. This scope of work outlines the detailed specifications, service requirements, and delivery expectations necessary to complete the project in compliance with the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) and United States Tennis Association (USTA) guidelines. The contractor will be responsible for machine sanding, crack patching, flood court maintenance, resurfacing, coating, painting, and installing new nets for the tennis and pickle ball courts. Detailed Specifications The contractor shall perform the following tasks in accordance with the relevant standards, ensuring we achieve a high-quality finish that meets regulatory specifications: A. Machine Sanding: o Machine sand the entire surface of the courts to ensure an even playing surface and proper adhesion for subsequent layers. o All equipment used must conform to OSHA regulations for safety and work practices. B. Crack Patching: o Patch large open cracks measuring 1/16" or larger using an approved acrylic patch mix. o Ensure that the patch material is compatible with the acrylic resurfacer and coatings to be applied later. o Prepare the surface to be patched by removing any loose debris or failed surface material as per ASBA guidelines. C. Flooding Courts: o Flood the courts to identify any areas where water collects or pools. o Patch all areas holding water after thorough preparation in accordance with ASBA and USTA guidelines. D. Acrylic Resurfacer Application: o Apply one (1) coat of acrylic resurfacer over the entire surface of the court. o The resurfacer must meet the requirements of the USTA and ASBA for flexibility and durability. o Verify that the temperature and humidity levels during application comply with manufacturer recommendations.
