The selected firm shall provide strategic consultation on Jacksonville Housing Authority communications, public relations, and media marketing. Some services can be provided remotely by the selected respondent, but an onsite presence may be required and advised by the assigned JHA representative. Basic Duties (including but not limited to): • Create and implement a proactive public relations strategy that identifies opportunities for favorable media coverage and positions JHA positively across various channels with a particular focus on helping develop complex narratives and strengthening relationships. • Manage and coordinate media relationships to facilitate positive coverage, including developing press releases, advisories, op-eds, letters to the editor, media pitches, coordinating media interviews and prepping Subject Matter Experts, and similar activities on behalf of JHA. • Advise on messaging related to overall agency goals, as well as specific programs and initiatives, including reviewing resident communication documents and other public facing materials as needed. • Identify, recommend, and facilitate opportunities to establish meaningful rapport between JHA, community partners and other influential stakeholders throughout the year. Assist with prep for public-facing opportunities such as City Council Committee briefings, and other engagements with elected officials. • Develop and implement an agency crisis communications plan and aid in executing crisis management as needed. • Provide access to professional clips service for JHA. • One annual media training session (approximately 2 hours) for JHA Executives and Board Members.
