The FDOT Surveying and Mapping personnel provide GNSS carrier phase and code range measurements in support of 3- dimensional positioning activities for work programs throughout the State, using the Florida Permanent Reference Network (FPRN). The existing GNSS anten-nas used to collect this information do not support tilt compensation or all the constellations supported by the FPRN. Addi-tionally, the existing tripods used to collect this information allow for setup error. Replacing the existing GS15 antennas with GS18T antennas will allow State Survey Personnel to take advantage of the new tilt compensation technology and the new satellite broadcasts offered through the FPRN. Without the purchase of the GS18T survey personnel will not be able to take advantage of the extra satellites that the newer constellations provide. Replacing the existing tripods with fixed-height tripods will eliminate setup errors. Also, replacing the existing CS20 controllers with upgraded CS20 controllers will allow cellular communications to once again be active. Without the replacement of the CS20 controllers, State Survey personnel will be required to use existing “hotspot” technology and will limit the types of GNSS antennas that can be used. Finally, the TS16 total station allows field personnel to perform surveying functions. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
