During and immediately following natural disasters, the Florida Permanent Reference Network (FPRN) provides Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) corrections to disaster response teams for emergency responses, disaster mapping and assessment, and infrastructure monitoring. The Department Survey and Mapping personnel provide GNSS carrier phase and code range measurements in support of 3-dimensional positioning activities for work programs throughout the State, using FPRN. The existing GNSS antennas used to collect this information at the individual sites are reaching end of life. Upgrading these units will allow for the FPRN to track additional frequencies broadcast by the GNSS satellites. This increased amount of data is critical to meet the Department's business model and to meet the Department's obligations to state and federal regulations. Leica's Customer Care Packages (CCPs) are used to keep the Department's Leica surveying software and equipment updated with the current software and firmware versions available and will allow for future upgrades in support of the Department's Surveying and Mapping efforts and the FPRN. The CCPs also allow the manufacturer to provide customer support for software and equipment if an issue arises that the Department is not able to solve in-house. The hardware includes controllers, an iCON tablet, Total Stations, 3D Laser Scanners, digital levels, GNSS base station receivers and GNSS rovers. The software also includes all Surveying and Reference Network processing software. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
