The City of Neptune Beach is soliciting proposals from qualified Florida Bar licensed attorneys and retired judges to provide Special Magistrate services in conducting compliance and review hearings as assigned by the City Council in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in the Request for Proposal. The Magistrate must achieve . the requirements of the Scope of Work. Special Magistrate services shall be provided by an attorney and member of the Florida Bar or retired Judge, who shall be appointed by the City Council to preside over traffic infractions, code compliance and Florida Building Code matters. In order to be considered, the Special Magistrate must provide evidence that he or she (1) is a resident of the State of Florida; (2) is a retired Florida Judge or an attorney whose membership with the Florida Bar is in good standing and has at least 7 years' experience; and (3) possess experience and expertise in at least one of the following disciplines and working familiarity with the others: law enforcement, local government law, Americans with Disabilities and Fair Housing Act Law, real estate law, administrative law, and the Florida Building Code.
