Specifications include, but are not limited to: St. Johns County is soliciting a quote from a qualified Contractor to be responsible for providing any and all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and transportation required to conduct the following beach tilling scope of work: • Maximum work area – between, and including, (FDEP lines) R76 through R102.5 o Sea conditions may prevent safe access to some areas – field-decision to be made in consultation with St. Johns County prior to and during tilling activity o Initial assessment shows sea conditions may restrict the work area to only Zone 1. • Beach access points – by Exxon gas station near (near R83), South Ponte Vedra Park (near R95 only 8ft wide), Usina Ramp (by Reef Restaurant, near R109) • Tilling depth = 24 inches • Tilling zone: o Tilling shall be completed by Zone, starting with Zone 1 Beach Segment Extents Tilling Area Length acres ft Zone 1 R76-R89.5 11 14,177 Zone 2 R89.5-R102.5 14 13,364 Total R76-R102.5 25 27,541 ? Zone 2 about 14 acres o Till between the wrack line and the seaward toe of vegetation or the seaward toe of dune scarp, whichever is more seaward ? Avoid all vegetated areas that are at least 3 ft2 (square feet) in size ? Keep 3 ft away from all vegetated areas ? Keep 10 ft away from seawalls, revetments, and upland structures • Create a relatively even beach surface with no deep cuts or furrows o Drag chain-link fencing or other material after tilling to accomplish such relatively even surface o Overlap the tilling passes to allow even and thorough tilling
