Specifications include, but are not limited to: Services for children, youth, and their families programming should meet at minimum one (1) of the following goals and accompanying element and metric. Contractors have the option to include additional metrics for selected goals and elements (see Form 5 for details). 1. Duval children and youth are physically, and mentally healthy and safe. 2. Duval children and youth succeed in school. 3. Duval youth successfully transition to adulthood. 4. Duval children, youth, and their families have access to the services they need. a. Children and Youth with Disabilities/Mental Health Children and youth with disabilities/mental health services consists of programs and activities designed to support and assist children and youth living with special needs, including but not limited to, mental, behavioral, emotional, or physical disabilities. To increase access to and participation in programs that provide prevention and intervention services in these areas, KHA is seeking qualified nonprofit organizations interested in contracting with the City of Jacksonville to provide evidence-based, high-quality programming in this category. Proposed programming should be designed to support children in addressing individual goals/treatment plans to prepare for, and succeed in, their future. b. College and Career Development/ Workforce Development a. College and Career Development/ Workforce services consists of programs and activities designed to support and assist children and youth during preteen and teen years; including but not limited to, mentoring, job training, career counseling, and youth employment programs. To assist students in preparation for high school completion and civic engagement, the college and career development/workforce development services are designed to offer activities/strategies that include apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship training, college readiness, remedial support, literacy, financial literacy, career readiness, civic engagement, and high school success/completion. Hands-on, evidence-based practices, basic skills, ongoing incentives, family engagement, upward mobility, multi-generational engagement, community-based learning activities should be designed to help students develop essential skills needed to prepare for, and succeed in, their future.
