This timber sale is a second thinning on approximately 139 acres of 30+ year-old planted slash pine on Pine Log State Forest in Bay County, Florida (see attached maps). Area 1 is approximately 124 acres in size and timber to be harvested includes all slash pine trees marked with blue paint. Area 2 contains approximately 15 acres of unmarked timber that will be harvested as operator select down to a basal area of 40-60 square feet per acre. The Forester-in-Charge will direct the operator toward the proper basal area to retain in this area. The sale boundary can be indicated by roads and dissimilar forest communities. The estimated volumes to be removed from the sale are: 443 tons of pine pulpwood, 1,382 tons of pine chip-n-saw, and 691 tons of pine sawtimber.
