The purpose of this bid solicitation is to obtain road capping services on Fisheating Creek Wildlife Management Area (FEC WMA) in Glades County, Florida (Figure 1). The project area includes Banana Grove Road (1 mile) and an adjoining parking loop (.1 mile). The road is of variable width up to 20 feet wide. The awarded Contractor shall provide road capping service on the length of Banana Grove Road and the parking loop in accordance with the specifications outlined in this Scope of Work. Road capping services include spreading and compacting road fill material to re-cap the road to a minimum of 4 inches. The awarded Contractor shall supply and deliver Department of Transportation (DOT) certified shell rock or lime rock road material to cap the roads. Road capping must result in a smooth surface suitable for being passable by two-wheel drive vehicles and must adhere to DOT standards and regulations for such material. This project shall be completed by May 30th, 2026. Bidders shall provide a fixed price for the entire 1.1 miles of road capping services, including road material as specified herein. 1.1. The FWC Project Manager will coordinate with the Contractor to schedule road capping services. 1.2. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, mobilization/demobilization, and insurance necessary to complete the work as specified herein. 1.3. Once the Contractor begins grading and compacting or capping services, work shall proceed until the project has been completed with no significant delays. The road must remain passable at the end of each day. 1.4. Equipment used in the performance of the work shall be of the proper type and size and in such mechanical condition to accomplish the required work outlined herein. All equipment used shall be in good repair, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. All equipment shall meet safety standards as established for that piece of equipment. All equipment shall be operated and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. All equipment shall be equipped with appropriate safety guards, as specified by the manufacturer. 1.5. Security of the equipment shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor, including theft and/or damages.
