Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department (FLHSMV) intends to purchase software and maintenance support for the Rapid ID application server currently in use by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The Rapid ID Device (RIDD) is a handheld, wireless-supported scanning device that communicates via the Mobile Data computer (MDC) to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Rapid ID (FALCON) system. The device checks two (2) fingerprints obtained from the suspect, roadside, against wants/warrants and can provide positive identification and a criminal history if matched with the electronic fingerprints that already exist in the FDLE FALCON system.
