1. The Sand Production Company shall be experienced in sand production for golf courses and Athletic fields and whose work has resulted in a record of successful performances. The sand must be cleaned, washed, graded, and processed sand. Only sand produced via wet dredging will be allowed. 2. Once dredged, sand must screen processed through machinery capable of accurate particle size separation such as an Eagle Classifier or better. “Dry” screening will not be allowed. 3. Must be silica sand (non- calcareous). 4. Must meet the following particle size distribution: Fine Gravel: 2.0 – 3.4 mm - Not more than 10% of the total particles in this range. Very Coarse Sand: 1.0 – 2.0 mm - With a maximum of 3% fine gravel (preferably none). Coarse Sand: 0.5-1.0 mm - > 70% combined coarse + medium. Medium Sand: 0.25 – 0.50 mm - Sand with a minimum of 30% coarse. Fine Sand: 0.15 – 0.25 mm - < 15% of the particles within this range. Very Fine Sand: 0.05 – 0.15 mm - < 5% of the particles within this range. Silt: 0.002-0.05 mm - Less than 5% combined silt + clay in this range. Clay: < 0.002
