A. Preliminary Design: The selected Respondent will meet with the Water Reclamation staff to discuss design features for the new deep bed filters. At a minimum, the design concepts should include: o Any requirements for geotechnical testing. o How the selected alternative will interface with the existing process piping and tankage. o Hydraulic design considerations for both gravity and pumped flow. o A preliminary plan for maintenance of plant operations during construction including a demolition plan for related abandoned facilities. o Design considerations for meeting regulatory requirements. o Considerations for controlling algae growth in the tank(s). o Improvements to other Conserv II facilities needed to accommodate the ultimate operation of the new deep bed filters. o Selection of preferred materials. o A preliminary site plan depicting the proposed location and footprint of the deep bed filters, process piping and electrical service connection.
