The City of Atlantic Beach is currently seeking guidance and information on the best method to create an interlocal agreement between the City of Atlantic Beach and the City of Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose is to review and evaluate the existing agreement to identify its deficiencies and discrepancies and recommend the best approach to creating a new agreement that will be approved by both cities. The recommendations may include examples of RFPs or Bids, or other ways of accomplishing this goal The agreement shall include, but may not be limited to, the specifications of the fire and rescue services to clearly define the costs and responsibilities of each party; assess a fair and reasonable tippage fee, which is a percentage of the whole cost calculated for each party to cover the operational fees of the landfill; establish fair and unjust millage rates; and determine any other services or changes that would benefit the cities and its residents, and improve the relationship overall.
