The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is a fourth row, operator select thinning of approximately 319 acres of planted slash pine on the Ates Creek Tract of Belmore State Forest in Clay County, Florida (see attached maps). Timber to be harvested includes every fourth row for access and select trees in the leave rows. Trees to be removed from the leave rows includes diseased, deformed, suppressed, or forked and a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired residual basal area of 60-70 square feet per acre. Sale boundaries are forest roads, fire lines, obvious timber changes, and property boundaries. All loading decks and skid trails must be approved by the Forester-in-Charge before use. The estimated volume of timber to be removed is 11,803 tons of pine pulpwood and 2,735 tons of pine chip and saw or better.
