The New Addition will represent the highest standard of excellence in every aspect of its development. It is to be a state-of the art facility that will promote the academic, intellectual, vocational, physical, and social achievement of its students. It is to provide a safe, diverse, and productive working environment for students, faculty, and staff. It is to promote and enrich the values of the Parkway MS community to which it belongs, both at the neighborhood scale, as well as that of Broward County at large. B. It is the intent of the School Board of Broward County [SBBC][Owner] to build a new Auxiliary Facilities Building, including all the necessary requirements for its efficient use. The proposed facility shall serve both the students and staff in an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. C. The New Addition/Building shall consist of design of the following spaces: administration, media center, cafeteria (food services), ESE self-contained classrooms, non-magnet music classrooms, Single Point of Entry. Additional design scope of work shall include but not limited to landscaping, irrigation systems, safety and security systems, adequate HVAC system, energy conservation design, electrical systems including low voltage, site work including drainage, new covered walkway to complement existing and to connect all buildings on site, adequate gymnasium and staff parking, adequate parent pickup/drop off, extension of existing bus drop off and covered drop off. Space sizes and design intent shall be in accordance with the SBBC (District) Educational Specifications. D. The scope of work is to design a New Addition as outlined above in coordination with the constructability review of the Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) services, and per the SBBC’s Educational Specifications and all requirements on an existing, functional campus.
