Specifications include, but are not limited to: Engine: • Replace engine oil using 15w40 synthetic blend motor oil for diesel engines (up to fifteen (15) quarts) and SAE 10w30 synthetic blend motor oil for gas engines (up to seven (7) quarts) every six (6) months, 5,000 miles or 200 engine hours, unless otherwise specified by manufacturer. • Install new premium grade oil filter. • Lubricate chassis. • Check all hoses, lines, and belts. • Check radiator level, condition, leaks. Fill if necessary. • Check fuel system for leaks. • Check battery, fluid level, clean cables. Complete load test. Report results on inspection form. • Check air and cabin filter. Replace filter, if equipped. • Check Transmission/differentials, fluid level, leaks. Fill if necessary. • Check power steering fluid level, condition, leaks. Fill if necessary. • Check brakes with brake percentage gauge. Report results on inspection form. • Check brake fluid level and leaks. Fill if necessary. • Check and inspect Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). If determined by vehicle mileage/hours or original manufacturers maintenance specifications, and/or authorized by the Charlotte County Fleet. • Check and inspect Diesel Exhaust Filter (DEF) fluid. Replace filter and fill, if necessary. • Run diagnostic check with OBD2 scanner. Report any stored & active engine codes including TPMS light. • Check oil on any auxiliary units, if applicable. • During service and or performing the over-all inspection upon safety deficiencies tires, brakes, crash safety system must be reported directly to Charlotte County Fleet. Fleet Administration will provide authorization to release unit back in service. Exterior/ Interior: • Check tires for general condition, tread, pressure, lug nuts and wheels, inflate to proper pressure. • Check wiper blades. Replace worn or damaged wiper blades if required. • Check windshield washer fluid level; fill with washer fluid if low. • Check vehicle exhaust system for leaks and condition. • Check horn for operation and condition. • Check back-up alarms and cameras. • Check all lights and signals; replace burned out bulbs, if necessary. • Check safety restraints for operable condition. • During service and or performing the over-all inspection upon safety deficiencies tires, brakes, crash safety system must be reported directly to Charlotte County Fleet. Fleet Administration will provide authorization to release unit back in service.
