Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. No disposal or sorting occurs at the NCTS site. Class I waste is received, weighed, unloaded and inspected. Unacceptable wastes shall be removed, and the remaining waste shall loaded into trucks for disposal in the active landfill phase at the North Central Landfill (NCLF). The location is estimated to be located 1 mile from the transfer station utilizing interior roadways. (See figure 2).; 2. All operations occur under roof within leachate containment. No waste shall be received, stored, processed, loaded or unloaded outside the leachate containment system in the building. Incoming waste may be stored in the transfer building for a maximum of 7 days prior to transferring to the landfill for disposal. (See figure3.); 3. The tipping floor is 14,700 square feet under roof with a concrete floor, 10-foot tall pushwall, and leachate containment. The facility workable area is approximately 100,000 square feet, not including the tipping floor. (See Figure 3). A maximum height of 20 feet, and a maximum of 2564 cubic yards or 1280 tons of material on the tipping floor shall not be exceeded at any time.; 4. The County estimates approximately 1100 tons of waste will be accepted daily at the North Central Transfer Station (NCTS), however the County does not guarantee a minimum or maximum daily tonnage.; 5. The County’s certified scales will weigh all incoming customers. The scale house will be operated by a county employee. The NCTS will accept Class I waste, Class III waste, and Construction and Demolition Debris from individual residents, commercial (mom & pop) customers, and other commercial haulers. Flyers will be available at the scale house that describes acceptable and unacceptable waste. Although small quantities of putrescible waste or garbage may be received at the NCTS from its customers, the majority of the waste managed at the site will be non-putrescible Class I waste, Class III waste and Construction and Demolition Debris (C&DD).
