Specifications include, but are not limited to: 5.1. Non-congregate Emergency Hotel Room Sheltering Services for Disaster and Inclement Weather To establish a contract with qualified hotel(s) in Volusia County to provide short-term non-congregate emergency shelter accommodations after disasters, extreme weather events, and other situations requiring temporary housing of vulnerable populations that have been displaced from their pre-disaster primary residence. Volusia County would prefer to have such agreements with hotels in the East (Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach) and the West (Deltona, Deland, Orange City) sides of the County. 5.2. Room Availability 1.) Respondent must guarantee the ability to respond to a room request during an extreme weather event within 2 (two) hours of notification. 2.) Respondent must guarantee the ability to respond to a request to scale up/increase room availability within 24 (twenty four) hours of notification, during the extreme weather event. 3.) Respondent must be able to respond to room requests on a year-round basis. 4.) Respondent must provide the County with clear communication protocol for room requests/availability. (Key contact names/phone numbers/email, etc.)
