The extension of NW 122nd Street from SR 26 to NW 17th Avenue replaces an existing limerock access drive that is approximately 0.61 miles long, extending north from SR 26. It is designed as a two-lane roadway section with turn lanes and 10' shared-use paths along both sides. The new roadway will connect to existing roads and sidewalks at both NW 13th Avenue and NW 17th Avenue, which are associated with an existing residential subdivision. The project will include piped conveyance system to collect and direct stormwater to a Stormwater Management Facility (SMF). The new SMF will utilize an existing depressional area located on an adjacent property. It will serve this new roadway as well as pre-development runoff from the adjacent property. Alachua County has been granted a temporary construction easement for the SMF area. The project includes milestones which the Contractor shall achieve in order to fulfill obligations of Alachua County to the Florida Department of Transportation related to the intersection of NW 122nd Street and SR 26.
