Specifications include, but are not limited to: Polk County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, requests the submittal of bids from vendors that are interested in providing mowing servicers; The successful bidder shall meet with the County’s Project Manager monthly to set the monthly mowing and maintenance schedule for each site. Mowing frequency may be subject to change due to conditions of the site. If weather conditions, growing cycle, or site conditions impede the schedule, the Vendor will meet with the County’s Project Manager to adjust or delay the schedule accordingly. Failure to schedule work may result in non-payment. All vegetation near manmade obstacles may be treated with an approved herbicide at the Waste & Recycling’s discretion. All herbicide treated areas will not exceed two inches from the structure to prevent erosion around the structure. Mowing and trimming will occur simultaneously. This is to ensure that all man-made obstacles can be observed by the mower to prevent any damage due to poor visibility. Line trimming shall be performed prior to tractor mowing to prevent damage to structures. Grass clippings shall be removed from paved areas and stormwater structures. All litter and debris must be removed prior to and upon completion of a mowing cycle. Litter and debris removal includes but is not limited to bags, newspapers, sheets of paper, cans, tree-limbs, etc. which will be torn, ripped, scattered or further subdivided by the mowers. This an expected performance requirement for the Mowing & Maintenance contract. All grass clippings that are not uniformly distributed and diminish the appearance of the mowing operation shall be corrected. Grass clippings shall be removed from all parking lots, buildings, pavement areas, sidewalks, curbs, curb inlets, culverts, drainage grates, monitoring wells, manmade structures, etc. Also, clippings shall be removed from any stormwater drains or inlets.
