Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is an operator select thinning of 211 acres of planted loblolly pine timber from Withlacoochee State Forest in Hernando County, Florida; Timber available for harvest generally includes suppressed, poor formed, and unhealthy pine trees to a residual of 50 square feet per acre of pine timber within the sale boundary and to the satisfaction of the Forester-In-Charge. The sale boundary is designated by roads, distinct stand type changes, Withlacoochee State Forest boundaries or orange paint. All pine timber marked with orange paint is excluded from the sale and shall NOT be harvested. Estimated volumes to be removed includes 3,720 tons of pine pulpwood/mulchwood and 1,690 tons of chip-n-saw and better.
