It’s important to note that specific responsibilities will vary depending on the type and scope of each project and the environmental and regulatory considerations involved. 1.1 Beach Maintenance and Sand Management 1. Perform beach tilling, grading, and sand replenishment to ensure the beach is in good condition for public access. 2. Manage erosion control and prevent sediment loss. 3. Install and maintain protective barriers such as sand dunes, berms, or other structures. 1.2 Seawall and Shoreline Protection Construction o Build and repair seawalls, bulkheads, and other shoreline protection structures. o Seawall repair or replacement (including washout and sinkhole repairs). o Conduct assessments of existing seawalls and recommend repair or reinforcement strategies. o Implement measures to prevent coastal erosion and protect infrastructure. 1.3 Dock, Pier, and Boat Ramp Installation o Construct, repair, or modify docks, piers, boat ramps, and floating docks for public and private use. o Dock accessory installs (ladders, cleats, fenders, handlebars, dock boxes, etc.) and maintenance. o Floating dock repair, replacement, or inspection services. o Install piling, decking, and other infrastructure related to marine access. o Maintain boat ramp areas and docks, ensuring safety and compliance with local regulations. o Boardwalk structure repair or replacement (in marine and freshwater applications) including, but not limited to, decking, handrail system, substructure, pile wraps & jackets. 1.4 Marine Habitat Restoration o Implement projects to restore or enhance marine environments, such as coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, or oyster reefs. o Artificial reef deployments. o Work with environmental agencies to ensure compliance with marine protection standards. o Monitor and manage restoration progress to ensure successful rehabilitation of marine habitats. 1.5 Dredging and Sediment Management o Conduct dredging activities in navigable waterways, such as harbors, channels, and estuaries, to maintain proper water depth for safe navigation. o Remove excess sediment and debris from waterways and dispose of it according to local environmental standards. 1.6 Marine Construction for Stormwater Management o Install stormwater management systems, including tidal flow control devices, water outfalls, and drainage systems. o Ensure the systems comply with environmental regulations and mitigate flooding during heavy rains or storm surges. 1.7 Tidal and Storm Surge Monitoring Equipment Installation o Install and maintain staff gauges, water level sensors, or other monitoring equipment to track real-time tidal fluctuations or storm surges. o Assist in flood risk assessment and provide data for emergency response planning. 1.8 Underwater Welding and Structural Repairs o Provide underwater welding and cutting services for repairing and maintaining submerged infrastructure, including piers and bridges. o Ensure that all underwater repairs meet structural integrity standards and are completed in compliance with safety regulations. 1.9 Permit Compliance and Environmental Considerations o Ensure all marine construction projects comply with state and federal environmental permits. o Work with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits to construct or modify waterfront structures. o Implement environmentally responsible practices to minimize impacts on local marine life and ecosystems. o Applying for permits (Collier County Building permit, Florida Department of Environmental Protection permits and exemptions, Army Corps of Engineers permits, coastal permits, i.e., vehicle on the beach).
