4.1.1 Routine Service a . The total contract price shall be based on the mowing of all sites, twenty-seven (27) times during the contract period. b. The contractor shall mow each designated area no more than twentyseven (27) times and shall not mow any area before or after the contract period without specific written permission from BCHA. BCHA reserves the right to impose penalties upon the contractor who fails to adhere to the specified mowing frequency c. The contractor will inspect all turf areas scheduled for mowing to ensure they are free of trash and debris prior to mowing. The contractor will provide plastic bags and will be responsible for gathering, bagging, and removing all dead leaves, grass clippings and trimming from trees and shrubs in areas such as walkways, driveways, parking lots, lawns, flower beds, playgrounds. All cuttings and debris will be removed from properties. d. Debris must be collected by raking and bagging or using a vacuum. e. Blown debris must be kept away from buildings, walkways, curbs, driveways, concrete pads, dumpster pads, air conditioning pads, storm drains, or vehicles. Grass and debris must not be blown into plant beddings areas; blown into or left in streets, parking lots, entrance doors; or left in areas where it will be seen or is unsightly. f. The blowing of debris on tenants or staff vehicles is prohibited. The Agency maintains sole discretion in determining a violation of this section and may assess a fine of $50 for any violation thereof. g. Any damage to the Agency- or tenant-owned property from mowing or other services performed by the contractor will be the contractor’s sole responsibility to repair in a timely manner. h. Each site is expected to be mowed once every fifteen (15) days, except during the rainy season (July to September), when mowing is required once every ten (10) days. However, BCHA reserves the right to adjust this schedule based on turf growth rates, weather conditions, public use of specific areas, special events, or other factors. i. The contractor will work with BCHA to determine when to increase or decrease mowing frequencies. Any increase or decrease in the number of mowings at one or more locations will not affect the per-unit pricing for mowing at the remaining locations. Should the number of mowings at one or more locations change, the contract price will be adjusted accordingly, based on the unit price proposed for the affected locations. 4.1.2 Lot #1: Mowing a. Grass height should be cut to approximately 3 inches using a rotary type blade. b. Mower blades must be always kept clean and sharp to ensure quality cut. c. Mowing will be performed 27 times per year, no less than twice a month, at the locations specified in the chart below (See Section 4.1.10, Service Locations). d. Mowing will be performed at locations specified in the chart below (see page 8). 4.1.3 Lot #2: Edging a. The contractor must edge tree rings, plant beds, and edges near any building, sidewalks, fences, driveways, parking lots, and other surface areas bordered by grass. b. Edging must be performed 24 times per year, no less than twice a month, at the locations specified in the chart below (See Section 4.1.10, Service Locations).
