The project involves the reconfiguration of the international baggage claim area and replacement of the outdated baggage claim device within the secure zone of the FIS checkpoint on Level One of Concourse C, aimed at enhancing the passenger waiting area adjacent to the baggage claim device. The scope includes selective demolition and the relocation of exterior walls to expand the interior space by approximately 2,300 square feet, enabling the installation of an upgraded and reconfigured baggage claim system. This reconfiguration will require the addition of new doors, the reuse of existing overhead baggage doors, the installation of new access control and security system components, and the updating of interior wall, ceiling and floor finishes. Exterior work includes adjusting an existing manhole and associated drainage pipes as required to make room for the new baggage belt location, the reconfiguration of sidewalks and adjacent pavement, the application of new interior finishes, and the installation of a new cantilevered canopy system with supporting structure.
