Specifications include, but are not limited to: This sale is divided into four areas and consists of thinning, clearcutting, and chipping. Area 1 is 86 acres of 15-year-old natural hardwood and pine to be clearcut chipped. Area 2 is 60 acres of 30-year-old planted slash pine to be clearcut and chipped. Chipping of non-merchantable hardwood greater than three inches diameter at breast height, hardwood tops, and pine tops is required for both sale areas. Area 3 is 23 acres of 30-year-old planted slash pine to be logger select thinned leaving 30 square feet of Basal Area per acre of the best trees. Area 4 consists of 22 acres of 15-year-old natural loblolly to be logger select thinned leaving 30 square feet of Basal Area per acre of the best trees. The DISTRICT PROJECT MANAGER will routinely assess the timber harvest to ensure the objectives are being met.
