7.1. SERVICE TASKS: Contractor will perform the following tasks in the time and manner specified: 7.1.1 Obtain any required permit(s) within 20 calendar days of Order issuance. Contractor is responsible for all aspects of the permitting process including, but not limited to scheduling any necessary inspections performed by the permitting agency and closing the permits, as required. 7.1.2 Phase 1: Prepare interior walls of the building prior to painting, as follows: 7.1.2.1. Ensure all letters, signs, and logos are removed from the building walls prior to surface repairs. Ensure re-installation after painting is completed. 7.1.2.2. All dirt, dust, chalking, grime, loose flaking paint, mold or mildew, and any other contaminants must be removed. 7.1.3 Phase 2: Caulk or patch all damaged surfaces prior to painting as follows: 7.1.3.1. Caulk all damaged surfaces within 14 business days of commencing work. 7.1.3.2. All surfaces must be inspected for holes, cracks, and damages. Surfaces should be patched and caulked to approximately the existing texture. 7.1.3.3. Major cracks in drywall surface must be caulked or patched with siliconized latex caulk or joint compound. 7.1.3.4. Replaced drywall must be primed with a primer prior to being painted. 7.1.3.5. All wood surfaces must be scraped, as necessary, to remove any loose paint that may be peeling. 7.1.3.6. All metal surfaces must be scraped, as necessary, to remove any loose paint that may be peeling. 7.1.4 Phase 3: Coat and paint the building interior at each location as follows: 7.1.4.1 Coat and paint building interior within 30 business days of commencement. 7.1.4.2. Seal and prime all surfaces. 7.1.4.3. All walls and wood surfaces must be repainted with two coats of Sherwin Williams SuperPaint interior Acrylic Latex. Colors and finishes must be chosen and approved by the Department’s Facilities Manager. 7.1.4.4. All metal surfaces must be repainted with two coats of Sherwin Williams Pro Industrial Multi Surface Acrylic and must be approved by the Department’s Facility Manager. 7.1.4.5. Paint applications may be made using brush, roller, or sprayer. 7.1.4.6. Coverage must be complete. Apply at a minimum two separate coats of paint to each building to eliminate bleeding, “show through” of undercoats, or irregularities of surface. 7.1.4.7. All materials must be applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and allow for adequate drying time between coats. 7.1.4.8. Surrounding areas not affixed to the building, such as plants, windows, doors must be carefully protected with plastic or a canvas drop during the painting process. 7.1.4.9. Ensure re-installation of letters, signs, and logos that were removed after painting is completed.
