A. TRAINING COURSE OBJECTIVES: An overview of the course curriculum as well as an outline/agenda of the course will be included in the quote. Generally, the training course should cover the following content areas: • Organizational Context and Programmatic Leadership. • Principles of Asset Management. • Asset Management Policy, Strategy and Planning. • Managing Life Cycle Decisions and Activities. • Assessing and Managing Asset Management Risks. • Financial and Business Impact. • Certificate Exam Preparation (Review and Practice Exam, Proctor Exam optional). NOTE: Each content area above should be customized utilizing Charlotte County Government’s assets, programs and examples whenever possible. B. INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN: The instructions should meet the following guidelines: • Centered around the fundamentals of asset management. • Designed for an audience with a limited understanding of asset management. • Aligned with ISO 55000 and IAM competency framework(s). • Provide examples, exercises and comparisons utilizing Charlotte County assets. • Training should be comprised of 3 and half days of instruction with a session length of 8 hours per session for a total of 28 hours. o The final session should be dedicated to exam preparation to include a comprehensive review, practice exam and graded feedback so the student can gauge individual readiness to sit for the exam. o The practice exam should mirror the format of the IAM certificate exam (proctored, 2-hour time limit, 60 questions – 20 questions relating to the principles of asset management and 10 questions each pertaining to policy, planning and strategy, life cycle decisions, risk and finance/business impact). • Must accommodate multiple learning styles via the use of varied learning activities (lectures, activities, relevant case studies, assigned readings, games and assessments et cetera.) to reinforce concepts. • A level of interactivity should be included (polls / quizzes / surveys, breakout rooms / activities, chat responses / discussions, et cetera.) in the course. C. INSTRUCTIONAL LOGISTICS: • Class size will be limited to a maximum of 25 students. • Any required course materials (workbooks/handouts) will be provided in digital, printable format at least 15 days in advance of the first session to allow time for County printing and distribution. • Any required access to websites/digital training materials will be made available to students for up to 1 year from training. • The quote will provide an outline of necessary pre-training preparation and time frame, basic course outline inclusive of agenda with specific intervals, and direction for including Charlotte County relevant examples and the required virtual elements necessary and the allocated timeframes for each task. • The instructor will provide proof of being a certified IAM Endorsed Trainer and their organization listed on the IAM Endorsed Trainers Listing. D. COUNTY HANDLED LOGISTICS: • A representative from Charlotte County will manage the employee registrations for the training as well as logistics for the setup of the training room. • The County will cover the costs of printing required course materials and distribution of those materials to students. E. PRE-TRAINING PREPARATION: If applicable, to effectively meet the requirement to use Charlotte County specific examples throughout the training, the trainer should plan to meet virtually with specific SMEs/Asset Owners at least five (5) hours over no more than a 3-week span prior to the date the digital materials are provided. • Kick-off Meeting (1 hour) o Present the preliminary teaching plan and strategize on County specifics. • County Data Collection/Coordinator Meeting (2 hours). o Incorporation any newly created materials into the plan of instruction. • Final Teaching Plan County Comment (2 hours). o Final plan provided prior to this meeting for review and discussion. o Finalize schedule/approach.
