Innovative Tech Wipeout C-9 Basin Miami-Dade County, Fl. This is a Joint Miami- Dade & SFWMD project funded through an Innovative Technical Grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. These grants target innovative technologies that can control harmful algal blooms. This project will involve the building of a temporary ditch system to test three (3) different technologies that target pollutants that cause algal blooms. The technologies include: Bold and Gold, Smart Sponge and Poseidon Pellets. Once built, water will be pumped from the C-9 canal and through a series of four (4) ditches (one with each technology and one combined) which will be sampled through a wet season. Findings will then be reported to FDEP at the completion of the project.
