Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent and purpose of this ITN is to enter into a contractual partnership with select Industrial Hemp Producers registered in the state of Florida for the purposes of evaluating the Industrial Hemp plant as potential crop for use in Florida’s economy. Florida Administrative Code Rule 5B-57.013 stipulates that all interested Industrial Producers may partner with either the University of Florida or Florida A&M University to engage in the state’s mandated Industrial Hemp Pilot Production 2 year assessment program. Interested parties will be required to pay for all services, travel, facilities upgrades and other costs associated with this assessment/pilot project. FAMU will consider validating 3rd party owned facilities that meet and can be made to meet all site security and control measures as requested or directed by FAMU SMEs, state regulators or those that may be required by applicable state or federal statute. This consideration is made in order to expedite the assessment process, support sizeable capital investments made by the interested parties and extend the reach of FAMU SME’s to support this important emerging industry across the state.
