Specifications include, but are not limited to: The School Board of Broward County, Florida desires to receive Proposals from firms to provide school healthcare (nursing) services to various school locations within Broward County, Florida to eligible students in accordance with the School Health Services Act, Florida Statute 381.0056 and the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) as currently enacted or amended from time to time. Also, pediatric healthcare experience, medical training, and educational assistance are required as specified herein. The award of this RFP may be to multiple proposers meeting all terms, conditions, specifications, and negotiations. The number of firms to be recommended for award is solely at the discretion of the Committee. SBBC is also looking for firms that can handle medically fragile children with disabilities and must have previous nursing experience in handling these types of students. This RFP shall provide Registered Nurse Supervisors (RNS), Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPNs), Respiratory Therapists (RT), and Unlicensed Assistive Healthcare Personnel (UAP - e.g., medical assistants, certified healthcare assistants, personal care technicians, health support technicians) to those students with chronic health conditions and/or disabilities or whom it has been determined that these services are necessary in order to access and benefit from a school-based educational program.
