Specifications include, but are not limited to: This service is to provide infrastructure services to the Department by supporting critical foster and adoptive parent recruitment and retention efforts, statewide and local services for foster and adoptive parents, and direct operation of the Foster Parent Allegation Support Team (FAST) Helpline. The Florida State Foster/Adoptive Parent Association (FloridaFAPA) is the only statewide membership group who automatically registers all foster and adoptive parents in Florida. FloridaFAPA members possess the expertise to be successful in providing statewide and local services. This contract will provide infrastructure services to the Department by supporting critical foster and adoptive parent recruitment and retention efforts, statewide and local services for foster and adoptive parents, and direct operation of the Foster Parent Allegation Support Team (FAST) Helpline. The services include but are not limited to, the operation of the FAST statewide toll-free Helpline (which is exclusively) made available to foster, adoptive, and shelter parents who are being investigated for child abuse or are in need of information and referral services. Additional services also include, travel to local and national meetings for networking, training and information sharing; publication and mailing of quarterly newsletters; recruitment and retention of foster and adoptive parents; and provision of speakers and brochures for an annual statewide conference for Florida foster and adoptive parents. They also provide recruitment efforts that brings in new families with a variety of skills and strengths. FloridaFAPA provides effective foster parent support to assist in the retention of existing families. Retention efforts are key to maintaining not only capable and skilled families, but assuring that Florida’s families are experienced, resilient and successful in fostering and adopting.
