Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is a marked second thinning of 295 acres of planted Slash pine stands in Matanzas State Forest located in St. Johns County, Florida (see attached maps). Timber to be removed includes all trees marked with blue or orange paint, as well as any timber designated by the Forester-in-Charge. The target remaining basal area is 60 sq ft/acre. Estimated volumes available for harvest are 8,626 tons of pulpwood and 1,931 tons of chip-n-saw and better. Sale boundaries consist of roads, firelines, wetland areas, and adjacent younger pine stands. This will be a twelve-month contract.
