Specifications include, but are not limited to: Polk County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, requests the submittal of bids from vendors that are interested in providing landscaping services on Florida Friendly™ plantings; 1. Every 2 Weeks: a. Immediately upon site arrival, the successful vendor MUST call a person on the contact list which will be provided by Polk County Utilities (PCU) for a walkthrough and maintenance discussion (unless other arrangements have been made). b. Pull weeds to maintain all Florida Friendly™ plantings in a weed-free condition. c. Prune all shrubbery and tree branches, as required, to maintain clear walkways and driveways. Shrubs must be trimmed to 12-inches off the building. Other pruning and hedging will be required for shrubbery according to the variety of plant. Precise instructions will be given to the successful vendor as to the care of all plants. d. Clean walkways and other associated areas, and remove all trash, cigarette butts and other debris. e. Blow walkways clean of all leaves. f. All leaves, weeds, limbs, and other debris must be removed from the grounds on the same day of service. g. When appropriate, limited use of pesticides to spot-control weeds, ants, wasps, and general garden insects may be necessary.
